  • System dynamics model development
  • Cross-scale and cross-system modelling in natural, technical and/or social systems
  • Integration of mechanistic, process-based and/or data-driven models into macro-models

or related and relevant other orientations, and in addition with the aim of transferring models into technological solutions and/or practical applications together with industrial partners.

The professorship will take over the lead of the new working group "Systems Science in Bioecon-omy" and the establishment of the new research field "Systems Science in Bioeconomy" at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy. There is the possibility of cooperation within the program areas and departments of the ATB.

The successful candidate will teach in the Bachelor study programs "Environmental Systems Science" and in the Master study program "Environmental Systems and Resource Management" at Osnabrück University for 2 semester hours per week.

  • Process-based mechanistic modelling of natural science systems and related calibration methods
  • Data-driven modelling such as machine learning or deep learning for relevant applications, including analysis and processing of sensor data, classification, clustering, prediction, feature engineering or data augmentation
  • Physics-based simulations and modelling, for example fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, mechanics, particle tracking, etc.
  • Biochemical simulations and modelling, for example process control or system/process engineering
  • System dynamics modelling in the field of bioeconomy, e.g. using participatory modelling, system dynamics or other suitable methods
